Christmas Vanilla Heart Biscuits

Christmas Vanilla Heart Biscuits

We love Christmas – so much so, we’ve come up with a recipe for these cute Christmas Vanilla Heart biscuits. They make a fun and super-easy baking project to do with children on school holidays and you can even decorate them with icing and silver sugar balls for an extra bit of festive glitz.

  1. Mix the icing sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk and butter together. Either stir with a wooden spoon (or pulse in a food processor) until well combined. Add the flour and mix to a firm dough. Shape the dough into two flat discs and wrap in cling film. Chill for 20-30 mins.
  2. Heat oven to 190C/fan 170C/gas 5 and line two baking sheets with non-stick baking paper.
  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface so that it is about 5mm in thickness. Use a heart-shaped cutter and place biscuits on the baking tray. Bake for 10-12 mins until lightly golden.
  4. Lift the biscuits onto a wire rack to cool.

140g icing sugar, sieved
